Night of Hope Benefit Dinner at English Turn Golf & Country Club

Sideline Pass hosted a magical Night of Hope on January 7 inside English Turn Golf & Country Club for 30 special guests. This fundraiser will help Sideline Pass send our foster girls from RainTree Family Services to prom this spring in the dress, shoes and accouterments of their choice! The fairytale atmosphere was created by Wink Design and Events, Bella Blooms Floral, Exquisite Events Invites and Firefly Ambiance. (If you’d like to see more of this unbelievable table setting, be sure to check out the spring edition of New Orleans Weddings Magazine!)

Our guests were treated to a 4-course meal courtesy of English Turn. Tasty mini King Cake was a special treat for King's Day thanks to Bakers Dozen.  Veuve Champagne was provided by Trey Monaghan and Molly’s At the Market. The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation generously provided excellent wine to accompany dinner. New Orleans’ favorite musician Robin Barnes and Pat Casey delighted guests, who danced the night away in the candlelight. Gorgeous photographs were graciously captured by Geovanni Vasquez of Black and Geauxld Photography.

Special thanks to the Irving Morris Foundation and Acme Oyster House for providing an amazing raffle package including pearl earrings, several gift cards and a swag bag! Our generous supporters also created a stellar silent auction that included a Carousel Tiger necklace from Reagan Charleston Designs, game-worn gloves and cleats from former Saints player and current Washington Redskins running back Pierre Thomas, a custom jacket from Fellow Suits, a golf outing courtesy of English Turn, a signed jersey from the Saints Cam Jordan and a collector’s edition basketball signed by the entire New Orleans Pelicans basketball team. Gift bags were stuffed with special gifts which included a hardcopy of Under Our Skin authored by New Orleans Saints Ben Watson, Da Cajun Critter Cookbook by Pam Lyles, Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning, FELLOW Custom Suits and a Member for a Day access from English Turn.

Jennifer Hale’s dress is a Pedram Couture original. Expert stylist Lynna Vo created Ms. Hale’s makeup for the evening.

Sideline Pass Holiday Toy Drive

What an inspiring and moving outpouring from New Orleans, Houma and Thibodeaux! Thank you for making the first annual Sideline Pass Holiday Toy Drive a resounding success! Sideline Pass was able to make Christmas morning dreams come true at The Haven, Raintree and Covenant House thanks to the generosity of our community! Benevolent folks flocked to the donation stations at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, Stein Mart and Ruth's Chris Steakhouses - contributing toys, books, clothes, games and supplies for those in need. Thank you everyone for your donation! Those of us at Sideline Pass were admittedly a bit overwhelmed by the fantastic response to the call for gifts.  We must express our deepest gratitude to Bella Blooms Floral for the quick loan of their cargo van to serve as Santa's sleigh for a day. From all of us at Sideline Pass, ICAN Foundation, Wink Design and Events and Fellow Suits - we hope you and yours had a wonderful and blessed Christmas holiday!

Scholars Dinner

At the end of September, Sideline Pass hosted its first Scholars Dinner at Rebellion Urban Kitchen to encourage 13 young women to continue their education after high school as well as  to guide them on how to pursue and finance that goal.

Mentors such as Colleen Snyder (executive network TV producer), Alanah Odom Hebert (Counsel, Louisiana Supreme Court), Dr. Kate Sullivan (OBGYN), Robin Barnes (entertainer & small business owner) and Coach Terri Sisk (Tulane Tennis) shared their challenges and advice on how to take the next step in the educational process.

Janie Glade shared an etiquette lesson with the group that focused on manners at the dining table, interview skills and appropriate follow up after interviews and social gatherings.

The consultants at the Sports Trainer Index offered advice on where to find funding, as well as support for entrance applications and essays.

The Sideline Pass ladies were treated to a generous 4-course meal where they could practice their new etiquette skills, courtesy of Rebellion Urban Kitchen and owner Seung Hong. Bella Blooms, Firefly Ambiance and Wink Design & Events created a magical atmosphere for the evening. Michael Dyle Films and Black & Geauxld Photography captured the evening, including professional head shots for the ladies to use during the application process.

Thank you ladies, mentors and sponsors for a spectacular evening!

A DAY WITH GIRLS ON THE RUN.

Sideline Pass kicked off in June 2015 with a fabulous outreach with members of Girls on the Run! We toured the Saints’ facilities, went for a jog on the team’s indoor practice facilities and met players such as defensive end Akiem Hicks and punter Thomas Morstead.

Our young athletes also focused on staying active and healthy, with recreation time at Sector 6 Extreme Air Sports and a balanced meal at City Greens.

Throughout the day of an outreach, Sideline Pass features several female role models who share their advice and paths to success. Mentors for our inaugural outreach included Tulane Women’s Tennis Coach Terri Sisk, WWL Sports’ Leslie Spoon, Saintsations Appearance Team Director Tamica Lee, Nola.com sports journalist Katherine Terrell, Thibodaux Regional marketing coordinator Toni Martinez, Fleurty Girl’s Lauren LeBlanc, Wink Design & Events' planner Christina Chapuis, fashion designer Sarah Elizabeth Dewey of Jolie and Elizabeth, plus Jamie Schmill and Beth Eisen from the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

Some outreaches also treat the young ladies of Sideline Pass to a shopping spree, like this one at Academy Sports. Thanks to the generosity of the I Can Foundation and Academy Sports, the athletes of Sideline Pass were able to buy all of the necessary equipment and clothing needed to participate in various sporting activities for the upcoming school year.
