Garden Party with Ashley Longshore benefitting the Sideline Pass Scholarship Fund

In 2017, Sideline Pass started a scholarship fund to send an academically excellent, financially challenged young lady from New Orleans to a private high school of her choosing, in the hopes that an outstanding private, primary education would open the doors for scholarships and grants to college. The scholarship recipient must also show a dedication to New Orleans and the desire to give back to the city in her adult, professional life. We’re proud to announce that Gloria is the first Sideline Pass Scholar! She is attending Dominican High School in the hopes of preparing for a career as an OBGYN helping under-served women throughout Greater New Orleans.  Our first fundraiser – a Garden Party with artist Ashley Longshore – was a huge success! Thank you to the incredibly talented – and benevolent – Ashley Longshore for being our guest of honor and donating one of her original works for our auction. Ashley, you are the definition of girl power!!!!   We’re so honored to name you as the first Sideline Pass Woman of the Year! A Huge shout out to Dr. Louis and Janie Glade for allowing us to use their beautiful home – thank you!

There were many amazing women behind this endeavor who are still working today to educate and give deserving young ladies a better chance to succeed. The Sideline Pass Scholarship Committee is truly a group of women who are as ambitious and intelligent as they charitable and loving. We have a great team! The Sideline Pass Scholarship Committee: Dr. Kate Sullivan, Tina Marie Wong, Missie Lindsey, Tamica Lee, Reagan Charleston, Fammy Famularo Rodrigue, Shay Melton Randolph, Stephanie Burks, Jessica Macaluso O’Connor, Robin Barnes, Janie Glade, Christina Chapuis, Allison Shapiro and Jen Hale.  Stay tuned for more information about our amazing gala!!!

Hurricane Relief Efforts

New Orleans is no stranger to the devastation of massive hurricanes, and that’s why Sideline Pass was proud to partner with the Better Than Ezra Foundation and the Irving Morris Foundation to raise money and deliver supplies to the victims of this year’s storms in Texas and Florida. A huge shout out to Tsunami for hosting us for dinner! They donated 15% of the tab to our efforts. It was a win/win for everyone who was able to enjoy amazing food and great friends  - plus help out our neighbors in need..

Sideline Pass Holiday Toy Drive

What an inspiring and moving outpouring from New Orleans, Houma and Thibodeaux! Thank you for making the first annual Sideline Pass Holiday Toy Drive a resounding success! Sideline Pass was able to make Christmas morning dreams come true at The Haven, Raintree and Covenant House thanks to the generosity of our community! Benevolent folks flocked to the donation stations at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, Stein Mart and Ruth's Chris Steakhouses - contributing toys, books, clothes, games and supplies for those in need. Thank you everyone for your donation! Those of us at Sideline Pass were admittedly a bit overwhelmed by the fantastic response to the call for gifts.  We must express our deepest gratitude to Bella Blooms Floral for the quick loan of their cargo van to serve as Santa's sleigh for a day. From all of us at Sideline Pass, ICAN Foundation, Wink Design and Events and Fellow Suits - we hope you and yours had a wonderful and blessed Christmas holiday!

Scholars Dinner

At the end of September, Sideline Pass hosted its first Scholars Dinner at Rebellion Urban Kitchen to encourage 13 young women to continue their education after high school as well as  to guide them on how to pursue and finance that goal.

Mentors such as Colleen Snyder (executive network TV producer), Alanah Odom Hebert (Counsel, Louisiana Supreme Court), Dr. Kate Sullivan (OBGYN), Robin Barnes (entertainer & small business owner) and Coach Terri Sisk (Tulane Tennis) shared their challenges and advice on how to take the next step in the educational process.

Janie Glade shared an etiquette lesson with the group that focused on manners at the dining table, interview skills and appropriate follow up after interviews and social gatherings.

The consultants at the Sports Trainer Index offered advice on where to find funding, as well as support for entrance applications and essays.

The Sideline Pass ladies were treated to a generous 4-course meal where they could practice their new etiquette skills, courtesy of Rebellion Urban Kitchen and owner Seung Hong. Bella Blooms, Firefly Ambiance and Wink Design & Events created a magical atmosphere for the evening. Michael Dyle Films and Black & Geauxld Photography captured the evening, including professional head shots for the ladies to use during the application process.

Thank you ladies, mentors and sponsors for a spectacular evening!
